My Dog Doesn't Bite (yeah, right)Posted by Johnny Falcone in perspectives |
"My dog doesn't bite" has to be the most true, untrue statement there is. Yet, I can't count how many times I have heard this since I have started going to off leash dog parks.

I'd love to see a feature here that allows for the importing of other blog feeds into this area -- until that's available, feel free to follow my thoughts at

So I was driving the youngest to school since the sidewalks aren't in yet. We waited patiently in line to drop off and when the girls got out of the car in front of me, I flipped out! Three young girls got out of the car all wearing short shorts. Not just short shorts, but skin tight "bend over and flash" someone short shorts. They also had on flip flops and tops (one of them even wore a long sleeved top) but the shorts were beyond acceptable. Had I not been in the drop off line, I might have wondered if their parents saw them leave this morning. Obviously somone"s parent not only saw them but dropped them off. Does anyone else think this is too much.
These are children!

Tis the Season!Posted by Mary Rosti in perspectives |
It's that time of the year again. I did the happy dance last week as I shoved the kids out the door, only to turn around and find my "kids home for summer" decorated house. I thought this would get easier when they got older. I was wrong!
The cat is still here. The dogs are still here and demand food, attention, walks, attention, snacks, attention...oops.
Then comes the best part of the season.....wait for it.....my tomatoes are ripe. Lots and lots of tomatoes, cut blended and cooked for 20- 30 hours until they are nice and thick. The first batch makes a couple vats of chili. The second batch is seasoned with garlic, and all the other things that make it perfect spaghetti sauce. Then frozen or canned and stored for all those cold winter nights when time is short and so is my attention span.
Of course, after all that cooking my wonderful husband dared to ask when I will be making bread. Had he looked in the oven he would have seen that I already have starter going for sourdough. As long as he doesn't read this, it will be a surprise.
