Curves Honors Health Week

Curves will give away one million 30-day memberships during National Women’s Health Week, May 13-19.

No doubt you are already aware that this month marks the period during which the Village Chronicles is holding its annual fund drive.

The readers and the community are responding to the newspaper’s request for help, and the dollars are most appreciated by those volunteers who make the paper possible. The donations reaffirm our belief in the community, and we send our heartfelt thanks those who have contributed to date.

The Western DuPage Chamber of Commerce has been providing training opportunities for member and non-member businesses since its inception some 14 months ago.

The most popular training is a series that focuses on “lean” principles. Lean is often associated with manufacturing because of the complexities of processing and the number of people involved in the various steps of production. Lean principles however, can be applied to almost any environment in the home or at work.

Recycle Electronics at ACE

Now it’s the law. In Illinois, beginning Jan. 1 this year, recycling electronics is mandatory. And in Warrenville, Ace Hardware is the place.

Just walk to the back of the store in Warrenville Commons to find the big box for collecting electronics—all kinds of computer equipment and small appliances (no TVs). It’s a drop-off site.

The City of West Chicago, Illinois is seeking a qualified developer to rehabilitate a historic structure for retail, restaurant, office or cultural uses that is situated within the West Washington Street Redevelopment Project area.

Edward Hospital has introduced an iPhone app which allows users to quickly find wait times at its Emergency Rooms in Naperville and Plainfield and view information about Edward’s Immediate Care locations in Bolingbrook and Oswego.
