A new Adult Day Care program has now opened at Community Baptist Church, 28w444 Main St. Partnering with ESSE (Ecumenical Support Services for the Elderly), the program is designed to promote the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of older adults.

The program provides a safe, structured environment for those in need of supervision and allows carnegies to go about their own personal schedules with the knowledge that their loved one is being cared for in a safe environment.

Rev. Linda Tossey, Pastor of Community Baptist said, “This is a wonderful opportunity to provide a safe, warm, welcoming and caring environment for older adults. We are thrilled to be working with ESSE and see this as one more way to serve our community.”

The program accommodates up to 25 clients and is staffed by professional carnegies and volunteers. Open Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., handicap parking and restroom facilities allow easy access and accommodation for the clients.

A well-planned program allows older adults to become involved with others and to take part in physical and mental exercises designed to help them retain their cognitive and physical well-being.

ESSE has been serving the elderly in DuPage County for 28 years, and provides an affordable alternative to long-term care.
