Monarch Landing launches its 2010 Artist Series on Fri., Feb. 12, at 7:30 p.m. with a performance by the Naperville Big Band of music from the 1940s through 1960s.

All performances in the Artist Series are open to the public, and tickets are available by calling (630) 548-0400. Tickets are $17 per person and went on sale Jan. 26.

Monarch Landing, an independent living retirement community developed and managed by Erickson Communities, is located at 2255 Erickson Dr. (Naperville).

“The Monarch Landing Entertainment Committee is bringing world-class entertainers to Naperville again this year, and we’re thrilled to invite our friends and neighbors in the community to enjoy the performances,” said Executive Director Patricia Luessenhop.

“We kick off the season with the Naperville Big Band, whose members also play in the Naperville Municipal Band. We expect a lively, toe-tapping performance for both listeners and those who will be dancing to the memorable music.”

“The Artist Series continues with incredible performances through October, from soloists and a comedian to musical groups performing in several genres—there's something for everyone,” she added.

The Monarch Landing Artist Series performances include:

Fri., Feb. 12 – Naperville Big Band – this 12-piece group (part of the Naperville Municipal Band) will perform music from the 1940s through 1960s for listeners and dancers.

Thurs., April 22 – The New Odyssey – these three musicians play 30 instruments and received the most votes among residents and guests for an encore performance.

Wed., June 16 - Rebecca Davis, a Classical Soprano, will perform Broadway hits and classical music.

Mon., July 26 - Comedian Jeff Allen will perform his well-known "clean" show, something not often found among the nation’s top comedians.
