IBEW Motorcycle Ride Benefits Homeless Veterans

The Electrical Workers Union Local 701 in Warrenville is hosting a motorcycle ride on Sunday, Sept. 13 to raise monies for the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans.

The Shelter is a unique not-for-profit organization located in Wheaton, and named for Lance Corporal Nicholas Larson, a young Marine who made the supreme sacrifice in Iraq.

The Shelter has already “graduated” eight veterans in its first year of operation. These men have transitioned to the useful and productive lives that they deserve.

Last year Mayor Brummel of Warrenville and Mayor Gresk of Wheaton were present to show support and assisted Local 701 in collecting $10,701 to donate to the Shelter.

This event will again be held at the IBEW building in Cantera on Bella Vista Dr. Registration will be held the day of the ride from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m.

Costs are $20.00 per rider and $15.00 per passenger.

The cost covers the ride, entertainment, lunch, vendors, and chances for prizes.

Help the veterans who have helped us all, and bring a friend if you can.

All motorcycles are welcome.
