Summerlakes is located in Warrenville, between Highway 59 and Fermilab National Accelerator Laboratory. The subdivision offers many recreational opportunities including 3 lakes, a swimming pool, tennis courts, playgrounds, and a clubhouse with a whirlpool, basketball court, billiards, ping pong, and exercise equipment. The Prairie Path runs thru the subdivision.

The entrance to I-88 is just minutes away on Highway 59. The Metra train to downtown Chicago runs regularly on the Metra BNSF Railway Line through Naperville or the Metra Union Pacific West Line line through West Chicago, Winfield, and Wheaton.

Summerlakes is part of the Warrenville Park District and Warrenville Library district.

Students attend highly-acclaimed Wheaton Warrenville Community Unit School District 200 (CUSD200). Residents attend Johnson Elementary School, located right in the Summerlakes boundaries, Hubble Middle School, and Wheaton Warrenville South High School.
