Take a deep breath George! The Catholic religion does not define “Homosexuality as Profoundly Immoral”. There is no anti-homosexual “doctrine” as you referenced. Your example of “stunts” as in the HIV dentist was inaccurately adjusted to fit your extreme anti-gay position.
Your rant was divisive, discriminatory, offensive, inaccurate, uncharitable, and dangerous. Your letter was an embarrassment to Catholics everywhere, and your prejudice is stunning!
I suggest the author get acquainted with the writings of Andrew Sullivan, a brilliant Catholic Republican on your side of the aisle and a moral, politically active gay man.

I am Catholic and I take offense to your statement: "The Catholic religion does not define Homosexuality as Profoundly Immoral.”, because it's false. I am not anti-gay or a hateful person and didn't make the rules. It is clearly written in the Catholic Catechism 2357-2359 and The Bible Gen 19:5-8, Lev 20:13, 1 Tim 1:9-10 , Rom 1:26-27. That it is a mortal sin (pretty profound, I think), as is fornication and adultery. The truth isn't nice or PC it just is.
As far as your comments on Andrew Sullivan: I do not know Mr. Sullivan personally but from what I do know of him, he is a confused man. He claims to be a conservative, but supports Obama. He says he's Catholic, OK with 1st trimester abortion and openly gay.
I do not write to condemn, but to state some inconsistencies in your comments and to restate what the Church teaches. Please stop spreading lies.
Catholics who do not accept Catholic teaching are called protestants. There is nothing wrong with wanting to be something different, it just needs to called for what it is.
I have read the thoughts of some other readers on the appearance of the Cenacle property, and I felt the need to add my views.
The [DuPage County Forest Preserve District] is in the process of naturalizing the property. For hundreds of years the Cenacle property was an Oak Savannah. At some point [not too long ago], the landscape under the Oak trees became mowed grass.
My family and I moved to Warrenville in late June of 2010. I have read the two articles regarding Fawell Dam (“Fawell Dam Concerns Unanswered,” by Crystal Lynn, 7/9/2010; and, “Village Chronicles Article is Incomplete and Inaccurate,” by David L. Brummel, Mayor, 7/23/2010). I also read the article by Mayor Brummel regarding his former big red truck.
At the somewhat confrontational city council meeting on Aug. 2 concerning the frequent flooding of the river in Warrenville, Mayor Brummel stated several times that citizens should get their questions in by that Friday and they would be answered at the meeting the following Monday.
Over the past few months, I have seen a number of instances in this paper where individuals have not been happy with the forest preserve’s handling of the former Cenacle property. I'd like to voice my support of what it is doing.
When I bought my property in 1985, it was not in a flood plain. It became flood plain in 2003. FEMA never notified me of this; I found out through a realtor. Having flood plain on my property has devastated its value.
