Age 73 of
Beloved husband of Patricia nee: Vantreese; devoted father of Barbara (Jim) Raddatz, Sandy (Steve) Woodin, Rich (Kristie), Karen (Charles) Voegtle, and Jodi (John) Ilosvay; cherished grandfather of Mitch (Katie) and Brittany Warner, Krystal (Trey) Williamson, Alex (Jan) Fererria, Matt, Luke and Lauren Voegtle, Cooper, Mikala Ulery, Nate (Stacy) Woodin, Matt (Kim) Woodin, Julie (Donald) Rowdin, and Nick Woodin and the late Jason Mores; great grandfather of Kaila, Dayne, Addison, and Rylan Woodin, Kole and Nolan Williamson, Luke Rowdin and Ashley and Ariana Warner; brother of David (Gwynn) Ulery; loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Active member of Community Baptist Church of Warrenville.
Former city Alderman.
Retired as Superintendant at Elmhurst Chicago Stone Company after 44 years.

I have read the thoughts of some other readers on the appearance of the Cenacle property, and I felt the need to add my views.
The [DuPage County Forest Preserve District] is in the process of naturalizing the property. For hundreds of years the Cenacle property was an Oak Savannah. At some point [not too long ago], the landscape under the Oak trees became mowed grass.
My family and I moved to Warrenville in late June of 2010. I have read the two articles regarding Fawell Dam (“Fawell Dam Concerns Unanswered,” by Crystal Lynn, 7/9/2010; and, “Village Chronicles Article is Incomplete and Inaccurate,” by David L. Brummel, Mayor, 7/23/2010). I also read the article by Mayor Brummel regarding his former big red truck.
At the somewhat confrontational city council meeting on Aug. 2 concerning the frequent flooding of the river in Warrenville, Mayor Brummel stated several times that citizens should get their questions in by that Friday and they would be answered at the meeting the following Monday.
Over the past few months, I have seen a number of instances in this paper where individuals have not been happy with the forest preserve’s handling of the former Cenacle property. I'd like to voice my support of what it is doing.
When I bought my property in 1985, it was not in a flood plain. It became flood plain in 2003. FEMA never notified me of this; I found out through a realtor. Having flood plain on my property has devastated its value.
