Warrenville Joins Cool City Program On Jan. 17, Mayor David Brummel signed the US Mayor’s Climate Protection Agreement thereby officially joining Warrenville to the Sierra Club’s Cool Cities Program, an initiative led by volunteers around the country, striving for collaboration among “community members, organizations, businesses, and local leaders to implement clean energy solutions that save money, create jobs, and help curb global warming.

The Heart Saver CPR Course is designed to teach CPR and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction to all lay rescuers, particularly those who are expected to respond to emergencies in the workplace. After passing skills demonstration, the participant will be trained in CPR for adult, infant and child victims. Participant will learn the signs and responses for a heart attack, cardiac arrest, stroke and choking victim. The participant will receive a course completion card (credential).

Healthcare Provider  $55     

Includes AED Credential Card and Book Included

The BLS for Healthcare Providers Course is designed to teach the skills of CPR to victims of all ages (including ventilation with a barrier device, a bag-mask device and oxygen), use of automated defibrillator and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction. It is intended for participants who provide health care to patients in a wide variety of settings, including in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings. It is required for DCFS childcare providers. After passing skill demonstrations the participants will receive a BLS for Healthcare Providers Course completion card (credential).

Friends and Family  $40        Minimum age = 8 yrs Participation Card Included

The CPR for Family and Friends Course targets all lay rescuers, such as school children, family members of patients at risk for sudden cardiac death, and other laypersons who want to learn rescue skills for loved ones. The course teaches rescuers skills in CPR and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction. It presents information about adult Chain of Survival, signs of heart attack, cardiac arrest, stroke and choking in adults. The class also presents information about pediatric/infant Chain of Survival, signs of choking in infants and children, prevention of sudden infant death syndrome, and prevention of the most common fatal injuries in infants and children. A participation card is given (this is not a credential).
