The West Chicago Police Department announced that Campaign #3 of the Illinois Department of Transportation funded grant was successful in educating the motoring public on Seatbelt Safety and Awareness. The campaign ran from March 12 - 20, 2012 and resulted in 105 citations being issued, 20 of which were for Seat Belt and Child Safety seat violations and 1 DUI arrest.

DuPage County State’s Attorney, Robert Berlin, announced that after a thorough investigation by the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office and the States Attorney’s Office he will not be pursuing criminal charges against the West Chicago Police Officer involved in an off-duty shooting incident which took place on February 18, 2012 after midnight.

Resident of the 3s200 block of Blackthorn reported having a dispute with neighbor regarding location complainant parked car. Complainant later found damage to vehicle and felt neighbor was responsible. Neighbor denied damaging vehicle.

Reported a child custody dispute while on the 3s200 block of Continental Dr.

On April 1, 2012, at 2:52 a.m. the Warrenville Police Department responded to a single vehicle traffic accident on Diehl Road west of Winfield Road. Upon arrival Officers observed the vehicle, which had left the roadway fully engulfed in flames. The preliminary investigation indicates that the vehicle had struck an above ground gas line, rupturing that line.

Dog Found

Charlie is looking for his owners - He was picked up at the corner of Home and Meadow Avenues in Warrenville on Friday May 6th. He’s a white Bichon and was sporting a blue cloth harness and his name tag. Please call the Warrenville Police station at (630) 393-2131 if He’s yours.

The third, and final, suspect in the November 30, 2010, Armed Robbery of  Jamba Juice, located at 28341 Diehl Road, has been apprehended.  Taylor Wilkinson was arrested on January 26, 2011, and is currently in police custody.
